Another mountain

// February 12th, 2005 // No Comments » // Guatemala

Well to try to clear my head a bit, i decided to climb a little mountain here.. Its called Indians Nose, I won’t bore you with the explaination why, i’m sure you can figure it out… so we got up early this morning to climb… we had a breakfast of fruit and eggs in tortillas…. then we went to the spanish school and they led the trip up. it took about two hours… it was nice, kind of winded by the time i got to the top but no where near as bad as that damn volcano in panama. The view from the top was very nice, looking out over the lake and many volcanoes… there are three real close but we could also see three off in the distance near antigua…one of them is active i guess. we walked down and went to a different city for a market, got some fruit and stuff like that then the rest of the group got a truck to take them back to the city but me and paul finished the hike by actually walking down the mountain… it was nice, my calfs would disagree though. i’m tired and dirty now… the hike was really dry and dusty… so i may go clean up, though the shower at the house i’m staying at is totally worthless… the water here is kinda dirty in the lake so i dont know about swimming either… i am filthy though.

some pictures….

These are not mine… they are pauls… his camera takes smaller pictures so they’re easier to upload… the little kids are from the family i am living with right now. the volcanoes and sunset are from the lake we’re at now… any questions about them just ask…

I am not able to rotate the photos here. sorry. Some are old, but are now added to my photo site

lake

well this is where i am… it{s not my picture again… just stolen from google. I haven{t taken any pictures here yet… it{s very very pretty… a lot of people selling stuff too, and they love to barter… its fun to barter even if i have no intention of buying what they{re selling… I have my eye on a big thick wool blanket for $37 though… it has an image of the lake and volcanos on it… we{ll see.

We are right now in Panajachel or some city like that… we were going to do spanish classes here though i think we{re going to head across the lake to San Pedro, they are cheaper there. hopefully anyways… well i{m not in the mood to write… maybe tomorrow when i have an idea of whats going on!
