Upstairs Progress

The upstairs was changed pretty much as well. The ceiling in what has turned into the master bedroom was taken back to make a loft out of the attic space. The previous stairs were removed and a toilette and sink were added to give the house a half bathroom upstairs.

The bathroom is being completely redone. The floor was ripped totally out down to the ground literally. We started by replacing the floor joists due to dry rot. The plumbing was completely repiped - getting rid of the old cast iron and replacing it with pex pipe (plastic). We took out the closet from the bedroom in order to add a bit more room. Ended up being able to cram a standup shower, jacuzzi tub and obviously toilette and sink. The toilette is awesome as it’s the newer tall type, approx the same height as a kitchen chair. simply amazing!

Well if you remember back, I told a tale of my friend out here that was diagnosed with cancer. Paul Beers. he had a tumor the size of a golf ball removed from his brain about 4 months ago. They also found cancer in many other parts of him. Well sad to say, he passed away yesterday. He was doing pretty well up until the end of last week. On the positive side (not that there really is one of course) but it went pretty fast. Cancer is simply crazy. Paul was my age… kinda makes you think.

I’m not sure why there’s so many red eyes… I don’t have the time right at this second to fix them… if you would like me to fix them, let me know, and if enough people (1 or 2 probably) want me to, i will.

Note: the image you get when you click on the small image, is quite large. If you’re on dialup you might as well plan on waiting 10 mins probably. That’s just a guess. On my highspeed internet it took about 35 seconds or so to download the whole thing. If you are using windows xp When you open a large window in a web browser, it shrinks it to the size of your screen. If you put your mouse over the top of the image it should change to a magnifying glass… click the image to see the full size.

Say hello to my little friends

Well this past weekend was jade’s birthday. I got her a digital camera and also got us a couple of Crested Geckos. They’re a breading pair so if all goes well we’ll have baby dragons in a month or so. I have to run to work, but here are a couple pictures of them. Yes, I realize that the picture are too big for the page… I’ll fix it tonight, i don’t have time to resize them right now. In any case, if you were using Firefox, it would display ok and make my day a bit easier. Clicking a picture gives a slightly larger version…
