The beautiful Oregon Coast

What is probably my last time seeing the oregon coast… It was great. Two beautiful days. It’s november and here in oregon, that’s supposed to mean rain… Well we lucked out with what i supposed could be called an Indian Summer? Me and Jade and Courtney headed out to the ocean on Saturday… We spent about 2-3 hours or so at Cape Perpetua / Devils Churn. It got a bit cold but it was still awesome. Out of the numerous times i’ve ever been to Devils Churn, I was never able to watch the sunset…. something I had always wanted to do there… the sunset was pretty damn nice too… the sun did drop down behind a set of thick clouds which blocked it out, but no complaints.

When we got back to our campsite, we found Ryan and Coleen waiting for us… they had been there a little while. We had camp setup already so we proceeded to build a fire and cook some food. After we emptied a bottle of Jadermeister, we made our way to bed… In the morning, we mixed together what food we had left (baked beans, corned beef hash, eggs and some cheese) ate that and headed back to the ocean. This time we stopped at Yachats (sp?) and walked around for a while… then we headed south a bit to Strawberry Hill… Thats where we spent most of the day and where the pictures of the sea lions are from.

Florence 9-25-04:
These were taken with my new camera, basically the first time i used it… it shows. THere was a little sea lion about 40 feet away or so… maybe more. I had a setting set on the camera wrong so all the pictures are washed out… whoops. I can’t fix them either…. but i realized it and got some more boring shots of star fish…. there’s one with jade holding one in her hand, about 4 mins before she threw my camera into the great ocean.

Moon and Spirit Falls

Well this was the big thing i did on my birthday. Last year (not on my bday) my then roommate (aaron engen) and I took off to visit moon and spirit falls. I liked it but never went back. This year i’ve been thinking about going back but couldn’t because Spencer stole my hiking book and packed it into his storage… Well we were at REI the other day and copied directions…. so we headup up there. They’re high up in the mountains and there are a couple pretty damn nice views along the logging roads you have to drive on to get there…. My camera’s batterys died so I didnt get to take many pictures. We want to go up there and camp one of the upcoming weekends.

Cape Perpetua

Just finished processing some more photos. These are from Labor day i think… whatever was 9/4 i get it confused with Memorial Day all the time, hopefully I guess right. Jade took some of the picutes, like the ones of the beach etc… the rest are mine. It was a very beautiful weekend… great weather etc. The campsite is about a 10 min hike to the beach and we walked down there at night to look at the stars… joy. Jade, i erased out some of your pictures.
